Alice in Wonderland: Celebrating 150 Years

Today would have been Lewis Carroll’s 183rd birthday, so it seemed like an appropriate time to make this post. November of 2015 marks one hundred and fifty years since the publication of Alice In Wonderland. We’re all huge fans of Alice in this household so the prospect of a year of Wonderland related events is an exciting one.

To celebrate this momentous anniversary, I’ll be relaunching my line of Alice In Wonderland jewellery next month, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Until then, here are a couple of goodies to tide you over.

Alice In Wonderland Reading Record

I made this reading record for Esme a couple of years ago, and since our main focus this month has been books and reading it seemed like a good time to update it.

The illustrations are Charles Folkard’s, from Songs from Alice in Wonderland, that I cleaned up and rearranged in Photoshop. Depending on your printer you may need to use the ‘fit to page’ option and trim the finished booklet a little. Download it here, or, if you want something a little simpler, you can download the A4 poster version here. I think they both look great in black and white but you or the wee ones might enjoy colouring the pictures in. I’d love to see the results of your efforts if you decide to give that a go :)

    Hi!
First of all I’d like to congratulate you on you wonderful blog, it’s so beautiful! I got here via “The Graphics Fairy” and your Christmas stag plates.
Would it be possible to buy one (or more) of your Alice in Wonderland notebooks? I think they will make a wonderful present for my niece, who is turning 7 very soon.
I’ve been surfing your blog for a while now, and your Flickr page, but for the life of me, I can’t find your shop.

    Kind regards,

    Patricia
